Hey guys,

I have a problem with my Nvidia GTX 480 which is currently in my system. Since Thursday night, I have had random issues with my PC crashing whilst playing WoW. Normally it only happens maybe once a day, and during something quite graphically intensive. Then it's fine. Windows is saying its a driver problem, but I am worried that my card might be dying.

This is the error I am getting:

If my card IS dying, what card would you recommend as a good powerful replacement for my GTX 480?

Depends on how much your willing to spend and if you prefer to stick with Nvidia.

Before you do i would make sure the cards is on it's deaf bed, to high overclock, drivers, corrupted OS... and so on.

Unless you just want to change anyway.

That code (X64_0x116_TdrBCR:4:C000009A_Tdr:2_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys) points to the GPU playing up. I don't think it is dead by any means and adding a little more voltage (0.06V) will solve this. If not, there are other things to try but I certainly don't think it is a dieing card.

Well, the voltage was already at the maximum it could go sadly.

I've downclocked it again, back to stock. So I'm guessing it *could* be that. Will see how it behaves later on. It was on a pretty high overclock (it's watercooled), so turning it down by 200MHz should help. I hope.

I am tempted to change. I haven't kept up with recent development, but I would probably like to stay with Nvidia yes. I probably wouldn't want to go all out on a 680, but maybe a stock overclocked 670 if people think that's a good option.

If you want to upgrade the a 670 would be a great choice on the green team.
