I have a work collegues computer that he wants windows reinstalled on.
He never mentioned this problem but when its turned on the are a random asortment of vertical and horizontal coloured lines running across the display. This occurs right from post and get worse in windows to the point the image is completely garbled.
I haven't started with the reinstall yet as I don't see the point with this fault. The monitor and cable I'm using are both fine so all I can come up with is dead graphics card. The card has both VGA and DVI outputs. Would it be possible for the VGA output to die only? I think he uses the DVI at home.
The computer is a Dell Dimension 5150.
