graphics card dying??

hi,
i'm running a Zotac gtx1080, about 5yrs old, my games are CandC, And strategy. i've noticed the edge of monitor is not completely changing to new screen and still showing icons from behind. i'm trying to run a 4k screen. it crashed earlier and the screen was black but corners red.
if graphics card needs changing - which one? i have a budget 550. running intel 13900k. asus strix z790mb.

Sounds more likely to be a problem with the software than the hardware, I'd have thought? But, for 550 you can buy a 7800 XT or a 4070.

I would change cables and then use a different port and if the problem still persists to then maybe try another monitor or TV?

tried a different monitor and reinstalling all the graphics drivers ? that would be my first actions anyway

He tried a different monitor but the problem was still there. If he changes cables and the problem persists then it may well be his graphics card.

Try underclocking the cards core and memory by a couple of hundred mhz.

Normally when a card has issues though it’ll be artifacting all across the screen and not just in the corners.

got an hdmi cable and attached a laptop - problem still there but less. guess monitor is on its way.

You haven't described the problem very well. No idea how anyone else in this thread has managed to give any advice.

The edge of the screen is not changing to a new screen? Icons are showing?

Do you have a photo of the problem?
