Hey guys I am new here,

I need some help,
my graphics cards fan has just failed and I need to know how to repair it as the manufacturer isn't giving me warranty as I live in the wrong country and the supplier isn't answering my emails.

The graphics card is an xfx 6790 and the problem is the fan has failed.

I could really do with either a cheap aftermarket cooler or a replacement fan could one of you recommend one for me thanks.

The fan is rattling and buzzing to the extreme and the card is only 6 weeks old and it was fine for the first 4 weeks.

I'm quite new to pc gaming so could really do with a link to a cooler or fan the would definitely fit and I can post a picture up if that helps.

Thanks

Unfortunately I purchased it from a computer shop that is now completely ignoring all my emails and they don't have a phone number.

xfx are saying they will charge me £55 to replace the fan.

So even if I have to spend £30 on an aftermarket cooler its better than sending it to them so if you could recommend a cooler for the xfx 6790 I would be grateful.

Here is a link to the card a bought I think it uses the same pcb as one of the bigger well known models but not sure.

The computer shop was on eBay and a website but neither had phone number or address so phoning them or sending a letter can't be done.

I'm not bothered about having to buy an aftermarket cooler as the fans were pretty loud anyway and I will just take this as a lesson learned and next time by a gigabyte card.

I really can't be bothered with the hassle of contacting trading standards and writing letters I would much rather just buy a new cooler any suggestions on the cooler?

Do you think the card would overheat and lockup with a £15 cooler?

I think the card it quite a low model anyway and doesn't get too hot but I have no experience with this sort of thing.

Can you link me to a better one?

Thanks for your help
