graphics card fan goes to 50% every time i restart

I have a powercolor 7870 myst edition (tahiti le) and the other day i noticed it had developed this problem which i assume is just a software thing i have missed.

in CCC i have the fan speed set to automatic but i have also set up a fan profile on msi afterburner. the problem is every time i restart my pc the fan speed goes back to manual in both afterburner and CCC and it sets at 50% then i have to set it back to auto on either CCC or afterburner.

probably something simple but what whould cause this?

Having the same problem, are you using the latest beta afterburner (beta 5) ?

Started to notice that problem when I installed it, but easily fixed in AB settings, so I wasn't too bothered.

Disable AMD overdrive in CCC.
My brothers computer used to do that and disabling overdrive helped, using just MSI AB for fancontrol now.

I had this when i was setting overclock profiles for certain games with RadeonPro, i just kept having to click default every time it set itself to 50% fan speed when it shouldn't have.
