Graphics Card Fault?

Hello, I recently purchased a MSI Geforce 470 Twin Frozr to replace my 280 which died on me. When I installed the new graphics card I noticed I was getting a lot of graphic problems in games. Such as textures not rendering properly, things disappearing in game and a lot of BSOD on playing games. Also Fallout New Vegas and Demigod just crash instantly on startup.

I never suffered any of this with my 280 so thought it was a driver related issue and because I needed to do a fresh install of windows I reformated PC this weekend and have found I am still getting the same problems. Does this mean my new 470 is faulty and causing the related problems? I have updated everything and have the latest drivers. Any help is appreciated.

First thing to do,would be to check your cards temperature

Have you got MSI afterburner installed?,this will tell you the temps when your gaming,and you can monitor/alter the fan speed of the card

Thanks for the reply, yes I have MSI afterburner. Temps all ok. Non-idle runs at about 40C average. Even under load on games that work ok, all seems ok.

Hi there, may I ask what PSU you are using?

Also, are you running the most recent Nvidia drivers?

Im running a Corsair 650W power supply and yes I have the latest graphics drivers.

Just tried to play a blu-ray. This has also given me a instant BSOD. Surely this is a faulty graphics card?

Try a driver that's different from the latest driver may be? Or may be even the one on CD just to see if you are still getting the same problems...
