Graphics card faulty or could something else be causing this?

I bought Final Fantasy XIV:ARR a couple of days ago but can't seem to play it long before encountering problems.

At first the problems were just connection loss (fixed by rebooting my VM super hub). Now the my PC locks up after around an hour of playing, vertical lines appear on the screen but the sound continues to play in the background (although it sometimes stutters the sound instead). As soon as the PC locks up the fan on my graphics card seems to ramp up in speed.

My card is the "MSI HD 7850 Twin Frozr III OC 2048MB", it is running at the stock speeds (900/1200). Temperatures during testing hover around 60-62 (Idle temp is 39), not sure about during gameplay (will check after posting this).

The card was bought last November and I've had very few problems with it since then, vertical line freeze has happened once or twice but never as much as it is now. The first time it happened was while watching a game trailer on Steam (Hotline Miami I think) but when the trailer finished the computer went back to normal.

Rest of my specs are in sig, drivers are all up to date.

So, should I be thinking about RMA'ing my card or is there something else that could be causing this problem?
