Graphics card for £100 - £120

Hi

Can anyone recommend me a graphics card for my cousin for around £100 max £120, for general gaming ie Need for Speed. He has an i5 ivybridge, 8gb ram and 450w psu and an SSD already in the system and using on board graphics at the moment.

For that exact budget, will have to be 2nd hand, because frankly anything new for that kind of money will be awful (or just bad). Mid-range cards now start at £150-£170.

2nd hand, take your pick from 560ti, 5870, 6870, 6950. They all go for £100 or less. And they will all beat AMD's and nV's £100 (new) offerings.

(The 650 is dreadful; the 7770 is just not very good).
 
Thing is, £135 is close to the price of the 2Gb 7850's when they are on offer (down to £150) which makes paying the extra £15 worth it. It really depends on whether they can stretch their budget or not, I bought my old card (HD 6850) for £76 brand new, which makes for a very good value option. If they can afford £150, then a 2Gb 7850 definitely gets my vote, if not then I'd say try and look for a sub £85 6850.

OP only has budget for £110ish - There has to be a line drawn in budgets, perhaps he can't get more to put towards a £150 card. It's general gaming he's after not 60FPS on BF3 Ultra settings...the 7850 card will be fine
