Hi,
I've been asked to buy and install a new graphics card for a family. They have a Geforce 440MX at the moment and it's just not good enough.

So I need a new graphics card that will be much better than this, but they only have a £40-£50 budget. I've seen a couple of cards such as an ATI Radeon 9550SE etc but if you could tell me what's the best card i could get for the money that would be excellent.

What games do they play? TBH look around auction sites & MM for something like a 9800 or 9600XT. Can be had for around that mark

You could get an nvidia 6600 or an ATI x1300 for around £60. I also found an ATI 9600XT for £47 at another large online retailer. I am assuming that it has to be an AGP card.

I'm pretty sure if you look hard enough you can get a 9800 Pro for £50 off ebay.co.uk. If not you could definately get a 9700 Pro. Both are decent cards and will perform like champs. The only thing I would check for is make sure there is a spare molex connector in the machine and that the PSU isn't some crappy 150 Watt phone charger. Although the offer above is very genorous.
