Hi all,

I have a MEGA mPC 51PV (see http://www.msicomputer.co.uk/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=15&maincat_no=134)

I currently have a Geforce 6800 GS in the PCI-E slot and it seems to be running ok. I was looking into upgrading the graphics card but i am not sure what i can but in the little box without drawing too much power out of the Power supply, as currently the PC runs cool.

I was looking at the Geforce 8600 GT DDR3 256Bit. Does this card need an external power socket?

also is it bigger than the 6800GS as i only just fit that card in?

Is the 8600 GT much faster than the 6800GS?

Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Andy

You'd probably get away with running a HD3850 or 9600GT, they dont use too many watts.

the 8600gt is a very nice card and is cheap as well would recommend one to anyone that wasnt going for massive high gfx on a budget

Hi,

Does the 8600GT Need an external power socket? (as my mini pc dows not have one)?

I am guessing the 8800GT is a little power hungry for my mini PC?

Also does the 8600GT support dual monitors ? (as i use my PC for work as well as gamming)

i know this should go in the CPU section but do AMD do a 65W version of the 6000? as my mini pc has a 4200 in it at the moment and i was considering upgrading but don't want to add a more power hungry video card and a more power hungry CPU as the sytem temp will start to creep up?

What is B grade stock ?

I was looking at the following : -
