Hi,

I've had someone come to me with a machine from the well known online shop. Now, the PSU are a custom size to their cases, so he can't upgrade that, and he wants to run Flight Simulator X.

The PSU is a 305w and he says it has 22amps on the 12V rail. What is the best graphics card he could stick in using this PSU? The slot is PCI-E.

Do you know what make the PC is?

It's definately not a mini atx psu?

I had the power supply fail in my parents HP pavilion a couple of years back and assumed it was a non standard item because the case was quite small! It turned out to be a standard mini atx supply and was easy to replace!

Was something like this - linky

If it turns out that you can replace it with something like that you'll be laughing.

If it is non-standard you have options. I have a 7800gt running in an Acer with a 3800 X2 and a 250 watt delta psu and have had no problems whatsoever.

If the pc is from a reputable company i see no reason why something like an x1950pro would not be fine!
