Are the items I got a little while back. Unfortunately, I was a bit silly, and didn't consider that the graphics card wouldnt fit in. - Anyone want to buy a graphics card??! (no really!)

Can anyone suggest a graphics card that will fit in??

Edit : I forgot, I have around about the same sort of budget, and in an ideal world would like it to play Natural Selection 2 (http://www.naturalselection2.com/) when it comes out - kind of hard to gauge what specs for a game that doenst exist yet i know, but it should give a good idea at least?

Cheers,

Tim :)

HD4770 should fit, can you provide an image of the inside of the case? It is hard to find such an image on the internet. I would have thought anything 9.5" or less should fit, but might be something in the way?

i'm not at home right now - at work at the moment, so i cant give you the exact pic of the area, and i think that pic kind of masks it (the one of the inners) but basically you have the sound bit etc around where the pci e slot is, so the 9600 was just a bit too long - looking at the pictures the one i pointed out looks like it would fit - but it's also a case of making sure it will be able to run a couple of games smoothly (im not a big graphics buff, so low settings wouldnt bother me too much, as long as it was playable :) - 50fps-ish in areas with lots of pretty effects etc)

Edit : by a bit too long i mean about 1-2" if i remember correctly..
Edit2 : *9600, not 9800.

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670 Ultimate "Passive" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

just been purchased.

wish me luck!

let us know if it fits, it seems there is a card sticking out into the middle of the case from the front? Bit of a bad design.

will do!

ye its a bit iffy in terms of space management i think, its really slick the way it folds out etc, and packs so much into the space, and looks pretty cool....but by all rights the orginal card should have fitted, if it wasnt for them choosing a really annoying place to stick the sound jack connector with respect to the pci e slot. if i rmemeber correctly (it was a couple of months back) the card would have fitted in terms of width.

Oh well, hopefully i'll sell the old card somehow.

Thanks for the help.

Ok,

Well it does technically fit, its pretty close all round though - especially considering how really small this card is.

Minor issue is that that bit which lets me bolt it onto the back (no idea what its called) is a bit tall for the box, so i have had to take off an extra bit of metal at the back, and can't screw it down.

It does work though, and hopefully it will be powerful enough for me.

It gets 5.8 + 5.9 vista (64 ulti) performance - i cant remember which way round it was.

Thanks,

Tim
