Hi what Graphics card would run battlefield 1 ok. I have a hd 5850 which wont cut it as i could not play the beta as the driver wont update to what is needed due to it being an old card.

I have a
AMD FX 8350
PSU-550W
ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3

What would you recommend ?

Thanks

Well I played the beta and I have a 970gtx.
I was playing on high-ultra settings and was achieving 90-120 fps :)
For how cheap a 970 is now, it's worth considering.

This is at 1080p 24inch btw

Edit: push for 980 instead, as price is not much different.

£150-180 get a 970 play it fine at 1080 90 fps solid on good settings.drop settings a little over 100 fps solid.

£200-£250 id get a 480 or a 980 gtx.

£300-£400 1070 gtx.980 ti should be considered also at £300.

any of those cards will play the game fine.infact i have a ocd 970 in one of my machines i was going to upgrade and on bf1 as above over 100 fps no point.

Worth keeping in mind while fps was indeed excellent on bf1 beta the map was very open.
What are the other maps like for performance? I wouldn't ever make a buy based on a beta or alpha version of the game.

Wait for release and then see what is what.

engine is same as bfsw so it wont change much.as said i played both maps in alpha on a ocd 970 in one rig. flew through it at 1080.

so ideally 1080 i would use a 970 gtx or 480 , 980

1440 980 ti/1070/1080

4k 2 x 1080 or above.

My 290 did really well at ultra 1440p always above 60fps with dx12.

I understand this same engine but that means nothing. Its like playing BF4 on metro map and basing your performance on that map when we all know very well that map isn't demanding. What are the other city maps like, going of this image other maps could very well be more demanding.

From watching a few youtube videos comparing my 1060 to 480's, seems my gpu performed a lot better overall at ultra 1080p. I'd recommend a 1060.

Your post is with little proof and seems subjective/possibly biased. Based on actual tests the 1060 and 480 are often so close that they would be hard to tell apart in a blind test.

We don't know for sure that the Alpha/Beta 'shipped' with the full assets for Ultra settings.

BF4 Beta didn't.

You might find the full game has much higher resolution textures, for instance.

With your motherboard then it's a waste of time getting a better gpu.
The board is totally unable to support an fx8 series without serious throttling.
