I am a bit out of touch with the latest kit my last build was an athlon 64 3400+. I am in the process of building a media centre PC which i want to use for movies, music and games. Its gonna be housed in an ANtec case with a 380w PSU. The mainboard ive got is the Abit fatality Micro ATX and the cpu is a c2duo 6420 - ram is 2gb and the PCI slot will be used for a hauppage pvr tv card. I have also ordered a logitech wireless desktop and two wireless gamepads.
Can anyone recommend a graphics card to use with this setup bearing in mind my budget is around £100 ideally less and the limitations of having the smallish case/psu. I was thinking an ATI 1950 Pro but then I have seen the Nvidia 8600 series cards and am wondering if the on chip HD processing of the 8 series nvidia card will be a benefit. Im not particularly interested in the latest games but I like my driving games and have bought test drive unlimited, GTR2 and GTA san andreas (and half life 2) to play on it. It will also be hooked up to my AOC lcd tv so I want to use the best resolution I can.
Any recommendations? or is there anything due to be released soon that I should wait for?
