Hi,This is my 1st post :-)
Im wanting to buy another graphics card,My current one is a [/B]XFX GeForce 6200 LE Turbo Cache 256MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-082-XF) And i dont like the image quality im getting when viewing pictures,I was looking at get a XFX GeForce FX 5200 256MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (PCI) - Retail (PVT64KUAF7) (GX-029-XF) would that make the images more clearer? My current pc spec is:
Amd 64 3500
2GB DDR2 XMS2
Asus M2N-E
Geforce 6200 turbo cache 256MB
250GB HDD barracuda

Thanks for all your help :-)

If all you are doing is looking at the web, then I'd examine your monitor before your graphics card as your current card should be more than adequate to display 2D stuff at the highest quality.

What monitor do you have at the moment?

Hmm, that's a pretty decent screen. That screen plus the graphics card you have should provide pretty decent image quality.

What issues are you seeing?

I am running a 6200 in my HTPC which connects to an Optoma HD72i projector, so if there was an inherent image problem with 6200s, it would show up on a 2m screen. I can't find any problems.
I would look to see that something in your monitor settings are wrong, or maybe try changing your graphics card driver.

Are you running the TFT in it's native resolution? You must do this to get good image quality. Assuming it's not widescreen, the native res will be 1280*1024 on that screen and you should be using 60 Hz.

Does the monitor have DVI or just analogue VGA connections? Use DVI if it has one.

I know what im going to do now,I think i will wait abit longer untill i can afford a better card,Cos i do like playing games on my pc Eg: HL2 etc.I built this pc just to play games on really, and the odd web surfing,But i bought that card just to last me..
I have a Xbox 360,If i got a X1800 XT or even a X1900 XT would that be better then the X360 graphics? Im not to good with graphics cards..

6200AGP

I've got the 6200 AGP card with 256RAM, and have no problems with it, i'm using a ViewSonic E72f+ CRT monitor and have no problems, I play NFSU2 on pritty high settings and it copes well.
Martnewy your processor's faster than mines and HDD is better quallity than mine. try updating the drivers from the card manufacture, i had problems with NFSU2 BSODing then i updated drivers from PNY and have had no problems.

Just an idea

I've noticed that while changing graphics card, the image isnt as sharper on a different gfx card. All i do is click the auto image adjustment button on my tft and voila. The image is sharp again.

Worth a try:)

im a crt user. heheh far better than current tft's if you got the desk space.
6200 is a good card with some hardware video decoding capabilities.

i wouldn't go for the 5200 , as its a downgrade step over the 6200
did you have the 19in tft when you had your old 5200?
as the 19in tft`s are the same res as the 17in tft`s you will see the pictures not as good as on the 17in

Hi again,Sorry not been on for awhile.Nope not got anywhere,I will be getting another card at the end of the month anyway,This one was just to tie me over.
Shame,i did think the picture would be crystel clear,Well what can i ask for £28 lol
It can play HL 2,But in low setting,Thats why im wanting a better card so i can run games,

I assume he meant for web browsing (2D images), which is where Matrox used to have better image quality over ATI and nVidia - although I'm not sure if that is still the case.
