I don't want to be paying over the top for a graphics card which i'm only going to be playing wow + a few other online mmo's.

Can anybody tell me any?

I was looking at GeForce 9800gt

Will be PC.

I want to be prepared for cataclysm which will be slightly more demanding than WoTLK

the 9800gt is cheaper than that, and I was hoping to pay little less than the 9800.

I would recommend a DX 11 compliant card, I have read an account that WOW with the new expansion will make use of such effects. So a 5 series GPU from ATI might suffice. A 5770?

So the 8800gt is good enough for wow, I am looking for like 50+ fps around and about.
Specifically for WOW, 9800GT would be "ok" (ideally should get at least a 4870/5770/GTX260). But in busy area and going on raid with lots of people the frame rate will drop quite a lot, not because of the graphic card, but mainly because of the CPU limitation (or poor coding of the game to be more exact).

I know you said you don't want to overclock your CPU in the other thread, but overclocking the 955BE from 3.2GHz to 3.8~4.0GHz could help greatly in increasing the frame rate at busy areas.

As for the dx11 update for WOW, it adds reflections of spells and characters to lava and water, and that's about it. You won't miss much on not having dx11 on WOW.

Is it possible in todays kind of hardware to get no lag or slowdowns in busy areas? (Bare in mind if the internet connection is perfect)

If OCing would mean having to get better CPU parts and more expensive I don't want to pay much more.
No, what you got in the basket is already capable. A 770 chipset motherboard and a Freezer Pro Cooler and a 955BE CPU. I would get an extra 120mm case fan for rear, as that case doesn't come with one.

It has the fan holes but no fans?

Also there is a computer I cannot say site but,

# Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.00GHz Quad Core
# Memory: 4GB RAM (Installed)
# Hard Drive: 320GB Hard Drive Serial ATA-300
# Graphics Controller: ATI Radeon 4350

^^ Fully built pc for same price

Is that better than my build, the quad is not pre-oc'd and I think its a really good processor.

If you read the "Overview" part for the case at the etailor you are buying from, it says "Can take 1x 120mm rear fans (not included)".

As for the Q9650 PC you quoted, the CPU is good, but not sure if the motherboard used is good for overclocking. Also, the 4350 is only good for using as a media/Home Threater PC, definitely not for gaming. See if you can provide us with details on the motherboard and RAMs. Also check the PSU, as many PC etailors's prebuilt system uses crappy generic PSU, and slow timing generic memory to cut corner on cost.

Doubtful.

With an i7, 6gb dd3 and a 5870 graphics card on ultra settings at 1920x1080 with 2x AA and full texture filtering (16xAF), dalaran can put the FPS back into the 20s with ease depending on the number of people in it at once. For raids etc it never changes from my vsync of 60fps but I highly doubt anyone can get a truly stable framerate in dalaran at the moment.

To the OP, personally I'd be looking at the nvidia cards as they can render the shadows a lot faster than the ati counterparts in wow, giving them a large advantage.
