Hi,

My son has an XUM gaming PC and has run a performance scan which has told him his graphics card (GT730) is way below what is required.

Can anyone recommend a decent alternative? He has found a RTX 4060 but I don’t know if this will fit as it requires 2pcie slots (I have no idea what this means).

Is there a way to check how many slots there are, and can an extra slot be added if needed?

Thanks

You need to take the side panel off the case and look, you could share a picture on here if you want us to confirm.

It is physical space below the card.

What game is that scan from?

XUM gaming PC
Can you tell us the PC specs please? You can use task manager for some of them, but software like CPU-Z or hwinfo can also say most of it.

tbf the gt730 is nothing more than a graphics adapter, i doubt it'll run many games lol

will also need to crack the case open to examine the power supply
i would bet that it has a no-name 300w psu inside

i hope he didn't pay too much for that tosh :(

You'll need to post a photo of the PC internals as space may be an issue. Would also be useful to have a pic of the power supply too (there's usually a large label that shows its output power specs).

XUM is the pc provider..doesn't really say much about the pc itself, ors size of case.
A gt730 is a single slot pcie card...so the part of the card that you see on the outside of the back of the case where you plug the monitor into is just a single width . so back of the case should have multiple slots that can be removed. A dual slot card therefore takes up 2 of those slots (each slot has a cover you unscrew...sorry, might not be explaining this well
what we'd need to know is size of case, motherboard etc..that way we'll know what size of gpu can be fitted

Do you have a model number on the XUM pc?

I get this all the time at work with customers needing a gpu and their IT install this pile of poo.

even the igpu of a 2200g is like 2-3x faster than the gt730 lol
Yeah, all the systems I see are all Intel based. I am sure that there is 1 company keeping this card alive by buying them for their PCs as this is their "go to" card whenever a dedicated card in mentioned

Asking the important questions obviously
It's a Dr Memory pc. they have a yt channel..Having watched a few vids just noew, they never actually say what XUM stands for, so guessing you can call it what you like
one unboxing elsewhere was just said 'X', 'U', 'M'...
