Hi,

Just built my new PC, so decided to stretch its legs! (touch wood) all is good! however was playing Cyrsis on HIGH at a res of 1280x1024 and was at times getting a slow frame rate for about 2-3 second then it picked back up! so my question is what could be causing this and how could i imporve this! I did update the driver to se but no change really!

My spec:

intel quad q6600
gigabyte ep45 ds3p
2x1gb OCZ
ati 4870
650 psu

the only thing i could think it might be was the RAM! as i have not set the voltage to the correct setting (eg should be at 2.1v but is at 1.8v) could this cause a low FPS? i also have enough 2x1gb sticks to add should i?

regards

no not really, 1.8 should be ok!

Put 4gb of RAM and another 4870 then maybe, just maybe you will be able to play crysis on high graphics normally.

Rubbish. He's only playing at 1280x1024. My old pc, [email protected], 2x1Gb Crucial Ballistix PC2 8500 and a 8800GT 512mb could easily play Crysis on high at 1280x1024 and that was with AA and AF added as well.

Set your ram up correctly. Correct timings and voltage. It states a certain voltage for a reason. Next you need to get that quad clocked. At 2.4Ghz it will hold you back.
