Graphics card gone?

Right im currently using my gf's computer whilst some of my parts are RMD'd.

I've been using my own monitor through DVI on this and recently after a while the display would just turn off, but the computer would still be running.
Tried to fix it and eventually i got to the point were i didnt even get any signal from boot. Although ive been told by the person who used to use it, that he never was able to get DVI working with this GFX card.

Tried another monitor though VGA it worked fine first time, although im back to the same problem, after a while the display will just turn off.

Now i seemed to have it fixed it,until last night and now this one wont boot with any signal, also when i launch any 3d App (Only tried warcraft and red alert so far) the computer will crash after 3-5 seconds.

Now all i can say here is, the graphics card is ****** right?
It feels quite warm but i cant imagine it overheating? Although sometimes if i left the computer and came back it would work?
Im gonna see if its still in warranty tonight.
Its a 8600 btw, not sure on the brand defintely not a well known one.

sounds like the gfx card alright. Although i would see if i could get another card I could test with just to be sure.

Yer im having a look round work today, hopefully should find an old pci one.
