Hi All,

I am building my new PC but i cant decide on graphics card. Originally i opted for Asus ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card.. but after reading some reviews. It seems like 2 x 4890 in Crossfire seems better???.

Which one should i get guys?

THanks for your help.

2 x 4890 in crossfire is a large chunk better than a 4870X2 and around 5-20% better than a gtx295. However, you will need a crossfire capable motherboard (P6T will do that fine) and a very decent PSU to run the lot - 700W+ (i believe the one you specced is 750W, so no probs there).

If you can afford this setup, it is well worth it as it is one of the fastest graphics solutions around.

@ cmndr andi

thanks again for your promt reply. I think i would get the 4890 instead. This is the motherboard i will be getting Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5. I think it does support Crossfire mode? and PSU i will be buying is the one suggested to me on the other thread which is this PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750.

Thanks again

Sure does, triple crossfire too if memory serves. Very nice board btw, a pretty big step up from the UD3R. Should be a very nice computer :D

I am hoping everything works fine. By the way whats the difference between XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB and XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XT 1GB GDDR5. They're only £5+ difference?

The XT is overclocked a bit, there's more than a £5 difference at the moment though.
