Would some tell me which of these is the fastest. Any other reason why I should buy one over the other. And how they might compare to a 1650pro /7600GT in games?

The X1300 is about £6 more than the X800 GT

Any other info about them would be great. Thanks

Oh and would they cope with all features of Vista?

Thanks

Pete

Thanks

Would it be ok for Prey. I just ordered a copy?

I have a Radeon 9600 at the moment on a 2.6ghz P4 at Prey seemed playable on that but not as fast as I'd like it.

If I got the X800GT and a e4300 core 2 duo on a Gigabyte P35-DS4 it should be a big step for me in graphics performance shouldn't it?

How would this cope with more recent games at lower resolutions?

Thanks

You could run Prey with a x800, but with no AA, and at 1024 x 768. A 7600 GT would be much faster than both those cards tbh.

Ideally you would pair a more powerful card (like a x1950 Pro, XT, or 8800 GTS) with such a nice CPU and motherboard, but it all depends on budget - how much do you have to spend?

If you are getting it where I think you are, it comes to £20ish + delivery?

Get it, it's a bargain at that price!

Very little really. Having to buy it my new system in bits and drabs. I bought the case well over a year ago and then had to cancel the upgrade as no money. I don't play that many games though but I just bought prey from play.com for £4 and think I might start playing a few more.

This is what I am aiming for at the moment:

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 got to buy £103 inc del
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.86ghz overclocked to 3ghz got to buy £63.07 inc del
Seagate 7200.10 320GB SATAII/300 8.5ms 7200RPM 16MB Cache got to buy £43.12 inc del
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium x32Bit OEM 1PK DVD got this £60.48 inc del
2 x Corsair (CM2X1024-5400C4) 1024MB, DDR2-5300/5400 (667/675MHz) got this £35.20 delivered
CASE ASONIC XCLIO Server case 5X5.25 6X3.5 2xfloppy alreay have £14 delivered
OCZ Stealthxstream 600Watts £50.99 delivered
1 x Lite-on 16 X DVD-ROM SHD-16P1S already have this
1 x Lite-on DVD-Writer SHM-165P6S already have this

What to you think?

Can you run 2 different graphics cards in this board - I know this card is not sli capable but could I run 2 cards in a non sli configuration?

Thanks

Nope, against the rules of this site, sorry

7.95

For the same price, you could take a pot luck stab at the 7300GT on this site.

If you get the DDR3 version, it would kick the X800GT's butt with a tiny bit of overclocking :D

I don't know what to do. the 7300 is a good price but postage costs from overclockers put me off - tempting though.

Really I should get an ATI card just in case I go with crossfire in future but I don't know what to get. I want something between the 7300GT / 7600GT / performance wise and was looking at 1650pro. Not really up to date with stuff. Any advice?

I was just thinking if going with the x800gt just for now until I get some more dosh, then use it as on a second screen. x800gt would be £29 something inc. delivery where I'm looking. It might very well do me performance wise as I assume it would give very good results paired with the 4300 c2d.

Are any All in wonders crossfire capable?

What to do.....

P.S.

I can't see a DDR3 version of the 7300 on this site, is there one?

It's pot luck.

They had stock of Galaxy DDR3 7300GTs a while back, and you could get one or the other if you bought the DDR2.

Dunno if that is still the case though.

part of me wants DX10 but people don't seem to like nvidias latest cards from what I have heard - why is that?

£8 delivery is a laugh though.

Sometimes it's close, sometimes the X1650 whoops the 8500

I'd go with the X1650, DDR3 is better than DDR2, and it have a lovely cooler

Trouble is I can't make up my mind. I keep saying to myself "just get a cheap one, you don't play that many games anyway" but then I find myself thinking "for a few dollars more I could have that one" or that one or that one and I end up looking at much more expensive cards. Just trying to get some good value for money, and hit the right price / performance sweet spot if you know what I mean.

I can get the Sapphire X1950GT 256MB GDDR3 DVI-I TV Out PCI-E Graphics Card delivered for £14 more than the 1650pro in my last post. Do you think that would be a big step up for the extra money?

Yes, quite a big one, about 60-80% depending on game and resolution.

If you are looking to save cash, you could always get the 7300GT, and get another to SLi if you want an upgrade, provided you have a SLi capable mobo.
