I need help on choosing a graphics card. I dont want to spend over £110 because im only upgrading a old pc i built up ages ago.
Iv recently built up a gaming pc but it was kinda over budget so i gotta sell one of the first ones i built. I have been offered £300 for it but the person who wants to buy it is really into gaming, but the graphics card in it is a nivida hybrid 9800GT.

Problem with it though it overheats....a lot, i got fan spinning at full speed from 40C + and it still soars away above 70, on elder scrolls oblivion in max settings it went right up to 89 once...i know that is way to high. Its got a upgraded fan on the graphics card, i edited the case to hold another 120mm fan on the side, just beside the graphics card ( you'll be surprised it actually helps...). I dont want him to have the trouble of the heat from the side of the case and the noise that comes of all 5 fans,

So im going to change the graphics card to something abit more powerful and quieter.
I was looking at an ATI graphics card

I see reviews it matches the performance of a GTX280.
Would this be a better card OVERALL than the hybrid 9800GT ?
the nivida is good. Just the pc is extremely noisey and i want a card what has the same or more power, with less noise so i can take the extra fan of the pc.
I would also like the graphics card to be considerably smaller than the 9800GT. not enough room inside the case. My wire management aint so great.

Any other cards for less than £110 please recommend

NOTE* the person who wants to by the pc has a 21inch monitor NOT HD!!! so he wont be running extremely high resolutions.

It pretty much matches the GTX260 in performance. The GTX280 and higher beat it. The ATI 4870 is a good card though, I have one, runs anything I throw at it without breaking a sweat.

For gaming on a 21 inch monitor the 4870 would do a great job the 512mb would still do atm BUT it runs quite hot, the fan is quite as its set on a low speed so should turn it up.

My 4870 is as big as the motherboard is wide but so are all the GPU you should be looking at for a 21" monitor.
