Hi, I'm on a tight budget and the only thing stopping me from the good amount is the graphics card

I'm looking to build a pc which will run games nicely and hopefully last a couple of years (at which point i will possibly do a big upgrade)

Will the OcUK GeForce GTX 460 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card last me for say 1.5 - 2 years, it's a good price for me and could probs go up to £130 on GPU

Thanks for looking :)

Yea, the that GTX 460 1GB is a good deal. The GTX 460 is a nice card, and for that price and with a ~9% factory overclock it's a bargain.

The only other cards to look out for in this price range is a similarly priced HD 5850 or a HD 6870 for around £130.

As for how long it will last running current games well - 1.5-2 years is a pretty good guess. So long as your resolution is 1080p or less.

the 460 is pretty even with the 5850 and about £20 less, so for me it would be a case of does that £20 off-set the extra performance that the 5850 offers? If it does, go for the 460, if it doesn't then I'd wait to see if the 5850 goes on offer again because they went down to silly money at some point if I remember correctly. Might have been about £100 on a special offer once?

Aye, it was down to £99.99 at one point - but this was a very limited time offer (possibly just one hour). However, they have gone down to ~£108 and stayed there for quite some time in the past.

However, since sapphire are using old cypress cores (techically out of date now) then there may not be a lot of these cards left to sell - so the prices may not go down much further. Considering the factory overclock on the OCUK GTX 460 1GB for £110 the performance of the two cards should be around the same level (the sapphire 5850 extreme runs at stock clocks), so I would only go for the 5850 if you prefer the AMD ecosystem or the price is the same/lower.
