Graphics card Hierarchy

Hi All,

Getting confused regarding graphics cards and the Hierarchy

I am after a laptop for £1000 or less that can also play games OK (probably not high settings).

forinstance whats better a 330m, 320m or a 5470, i'm assuming an HD card starting with a 5 is better than a 4 and after that the bigger the number the better so 5470 is not as good as a 5650? or I could be wrong, Sorry really out of date with this stuff especially laptops

You want a Radeon 5650 or 4770 on the ATi side, and a GeForce 230m or higher on the Nvidia side. There are lots of models available with those kinds of graphics cards for under £1000. As for CPU, make sure you get a Core i3, i5, or i7 depending on your final budget.
