graphics card issue

Hi all

ok some of you might have seen my thread where i was pondering on weather to get an old nvidia card and use for physx. well i got an 8800 and tried to install it. as soon as i switched my machine on it made a crazy buzzing noise and the display was blank. took the card out and kept the 5870 inside, still blank. after trying severel attempts at tropuble shooting i cleared the cmos and im back. does anybody know what may have happend?

Did you plug the two 6 pin power connectors into the 8800?

These cards make a loud whine if they don't have sufficient power.

they need power and they need to be slotted in props otherwise its gonna give out a scary whine!!!

yes i plugged the 6 pin in. it only takes one, yeah im pretty sure it was in properly
