Hi guys/girls

I recently built myself a PC. I am having some issues on some games where the screen freezes and my FPS goes from 160odd to 1. The freeze happens for about 5 seconds.

Anyone know what can be causing this?

I am running AMD Ryzen 9 7900x CPU GIGABYTE B650 AOROS Elite AX GPU

Any help would be appreciated.

What GPU are you running? (if I'm reading that right, what you've listed is CPU and motherboard)

Full PC spec (CPU, motherboard, RAM, GPU, power supply, storage) would be helpful.Choking that hard sounds like it could be unstable RAM or a power issue.

Do the games ever crash to desktop, or fully lock up your system (to the point where you have to reboot)?

hi sorry i put the wrong spec in! here is what im running. im not the best with all the pc stuff so hopefully thats the right list

AMD Ryzen 9 7900x
GIGABYTE B650 AOROS Elite AX
GIGABYTE 4080 16gb gaming OC
CORSAIR HXi series HX100011 FM
2x16gb CorVengRGB DDR5 6000 C36
2TB WB BLACL SN850X gaming SSD

the games are crashing like freezing for about 10-15 seconds and then i can play again. the games dont ever crash me back to the desktop.

Have a look in the event viewer at the time of the freezes.

Have you already looked into the old AMD fTPM stutter problem? Though, I'd expect it to have been resolved by now.

Get something line HWInfo from a trusted site like techspot and then monitor your CPU and GPU temps.
Could be thermal throttling of the CPU if you have an AIO not powered correctly or similar.

Post back with the max temps you are seeing during gaming
