half the time when i turn my PC on, my graphics card makes this very loud noise almost like a car engine :p, didnt know what it was at first, but when turning my fan speed up in MSI afterburner, the noise gets louder so its the card.

If i turn my pc off at the wall socket and restart it goes away, today it started happening after a few hours gaming and i needed to restart.

What does this sound like, a broken fan? Temps have been fine though.

Thanks

Mine does this quite often, particularly when getting warm inside my case.
I guess the thermal expansion on the fan blades causes it to go slightly off center and vibrate in a certain RPM range.

It also does it if cold in my room, and firing up for first time, must definitely be something to do with temperature.

the gtx 460s sometimes squeal. Some people call it coil whine. It's normal, you can get rid of it by turning on vertical sync on the nvidia control panel. That's how I got rid of it on my card. If it doesn't fix it then your problem is not coil whine:p

it wont go away today at all :(

ok turned vsync on and after about 8 restarts its died down, may also be te theory of it warming up. Bah i hope i dont have to get a new one i have no money :(
