Hi,
Built my PC at start of January, but didn't have the graphics card initially as I wanted to see what the prices for 7970 were like (they were too high). So I decided to buy an ATI Radeon HD 6950 (Asus Directcu ii). Now the card works absolutely fine, I unlocked it and everything and all my games run really smoothly, but whenever the computer is switched off at night, there is an intermittent (usually every 10-20 minutes for about 30 seconds to a minute) high pitched squealing noise that is definitely coming the graphics card. I know this as the PC definitely did not make the noise before I bought the graphics card, as there was about a week and a half between the actual build and the graphics card arriving.
I am just wondering if this should be a cause for concern, I looked around the internet and a few places said it was normal, a few said it indicated faulty capacitors and a few said it couldn't be coming from the GPU, it had to be coming from the PSU (which is not the case). Can anyone shed any light on this issue?
Thanks very much,
Zumio
