I was having a clear out of my study and was about to throw out a number of old graphics cards used by my family. They go back over twenty years to the days of AGP cards, they all work and my son suggested I ask if there is a market for this type of thing or to check if anyone collects them before I throw them out.
So does anyone know if people collect these things or should I just bin them?

I'd be interested to know too, how old are you talking? I have a Radeon X800 and I was keeping a brand new never used circa year 2000 PC in it's box at work and I think together they'd make a formidable retro system

I had the intention of mounting my collection sequentially on a framed board down one side of my computer area. But life got complicated and they were sent to the tip. They'd probably only have got dusty anyway.

Well that was the prod I needed to see exactly what I have. So without further ado I have the following cards:
Manufacturer Model Memory Bus Year
Nvidia Ti 4200 128MB AGP 8x 2001
ATI 9600 Pro 256MB AGP 8x 2003
Nvidia 6600GT 128MB AGP 2004
Nvidia 8800GTS 512MB PCI 2006
Nvidia 8800GT 512MB PCI 2006
AMD HD5770 1GB PCI 2011

I must have thrown some cards out previously as there used to be a lot more but even so it's still a nice little bunch of cards which will bring back fond memories for the older members - and a history lesson for the younger ones!

I remember a lot of those, I think my first card was an FX 5600 in the first system I ever built followed by my dad’s old X800... I hope work hasn’t thrown out that old computer now, it was given to me by someone who received it brand new as a present in 2000 and never took it out of its box, had to break the seal to take a look at it! Plus a monitor, keyboard and mouse too.

I still have an Orchid Righteous 3D Voodoo 1 graphics card. Doubt it's worth anything, though.

I wish I'd kept hold of my 3Dfx Voodoo 5 5500. That is probably quite collectible now.

^^Can't see any of the cards you mention being worth much as they are all relatively recent (21st Century)

I've got a Voodoo1 was well which is a classic but agree it won't be worth anything, because they were too common. I suspect I am less likely to throw it out than some of the other stuff though, cars like 7900GTO or 8800GTS-320 have no nostalgia and no performance. I wonder if more niche cards like Kyro II have a market?
At one point I used to try to sell old cards when upgrading but gave up on that about 10 years ago.
