A friend at work has recently upgraded his kids generic Dell Desktop with an ATI Radeon graphics card, no specific model type at the mo but i do know it had about 1GB of onboard memory.

He has also bought 2 x 2GB ram modules to upgrade the machine from 2 x 512mb. According to DELL his Mobo can take up to a max of 4gb

With 4gb ram installed the machine does not recognise the GPU but can see all 4gb of ram, with 1 x 2gb it works fine......

I know i am missing the full specs for the machine, he's going to bring them in tomorrow but i was just wondering if any body had any clues......

Cheers

OK

Mother board: 915P/G Combo by MSI
Processor: Intel (R) Pentium 4 @3.2GHz
PSU: 350W FSP Group Noise Killer Model FSP350-60THN-P
Memory: 4Gb DDR2 (hopefully) Previously 2 x 512mb

Previous GPU: ATI Radeon x800 256mb

New GPU: ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro (VX912) think it has only 512mb on board

The new GPU was a donation, The Ram has been tested in both slots and each 2GB has been tested seperately.....

Not sure if he has disabled any onboard GFX

Anyways, hopefully an answer can be found.....cheers for the help
