Graphics card not working

Hi all,

I think I may have trashed my graphics card, but I'd appreciate your opinions.

I stuck my old ATI 5870 in my new computer and all was well. Or at least it was until I started faffing with cable runs from the PSU to various bits and bobs. It's a modular PSU - I temporarily disconnected some cables to make way for another, then reconnected everything.

When I powered up, I got a loud continuous beep and no video output. Here's what I did next:

Power off
Check all connections from the PSU to the board and other bits
Swap over the two power connectors on top of the graphics card
Power back on

No beeping this time, but no video from the card, either. Not even a POST screen; orange power light on the monitor.

Power off, connect to onboard graphics, and the PC is OK.

It did complain about voltage changes on the board and accused me of overclocking (not guilty, yer honour) so I went into the BIOS and loaded optimized defaults. The card has power -it's fan spins up.

Still nothing from the 5870. Have I fried it? Or is there something in the BIOS I have to set to make the motherboard see the card?

I tried installing the latest ATI drivers, but they install with errors - I don't think they're seeing the card :(

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sigh... now it's getting weird. Another reboot and I can't get anything from the onboard video now. No POST screen, nothing. This is onboard Intel graphics, HDMI out into an Iiyama monitor.

The only video output from the motherboard is HDMI, and I haven't got another HDMI monitor I can test it with.

The 5870 is OK. Stuck it back in the old PC and I get a POST screen. Soooo.... I've fried either my motherboard, or partially fried my PSU. And it's probably the board, right?
