Graphics Card on a budget

im bored.

Nothing would really be worth it for £100 imo. Next thing up would be a 7600GT for £125 as mentioned above. That's what I'd go for.

At least on par with the 7600GT in terms of speed, yet still within your budget.

[Edit] Just noticed the AGP part, so ignore the suggestion.

I agree with the others in this case, either find the extra for the 7600GT, or trawl the MM for an old X800XT PE - they fetch around £80-90.

i woudl suggest having a look on the common internet auction site.

with people starting to want 8series, you will probably find some 7s pretty cheap now.

Or perhaps get a 6800 ultra, bet you could get one of those for less than a 100 now

My current graphics card is an old Radeon 7500 and I'm buying a new motherboard (ASRock 775DUAL) after Christmas and just looking for a basic card. Just use my PC to watch DVDs, watch Freeview through a Leadtek DTV1000-T card and that is about it. I don't play graphic intensive games cause I'm rubbish at them!!!

Not kept up with the technology so not sure if ATI or nVidia do the best DVD playback, MPEG2 encoding for Freeview etc.

Anyone got any suggestions for the best budget AGP or PCI-E card around the £50-£80 mark?

Best budget PCI-E would probably be the 7600GT for £80ish or the 7300GT (DDR3 version) for £50ish if you look around. AGP in that price bracket has kinda been a bit abandoned, but you might be able to find a basic 7600 series card around the £80-100 mark
