Graphics Card on it's way out ??

I am using a GT8800 graphics card which I have had for about 2 years. I have

notice recently small horizontal or vertical dots on the monitor when I play

games. This happens several times during game play.

A friend of mine says that the graphics card is "On it's way out," can any one

confirm this?
 
My suggestion would be to take the card out, take the heatsink and fan off and give it a good clean. Those cards run HOT and over 2 years if the heatsink has got clogged up it might just be overheating.
