Graphics Card Options & questions

So Looking at moving my 7990 to something better.
- Don't need more Performance as such but would be nice
- only struggle on Watch Dogs (not by much either
- looking for quieter
- Cooler if possible

The options i can see for myself:
single 290x
single 780TI
Xfire 290's
]780Ti Sli is bit stupid price (1200 roughly)
290x2 (hate watercooling & stupid price)

Questions:
1. How long till next cards that come out? (roughly)
2. - whats the best option you think?
3 - heard so many bad things about 290 (flickering/blackscreen) are AMD addressing this?

i7 3770k @ 4.6Ghz
16GB Ram
HX850
Resolution 2560x1080 & 2x 1080p (only game on 1)

how much of a hit would i take going to a 290x only?

you have the R9 290 vaporx , cool, quiet, you wont need to watercool in crossfire cost 680£ (thats like half 780ti sli price..)
although playing @1080p, 1 290 should be enough.

1- rumors, AMD planning to release some cards around August, and Nvidia around october.
2- 290's are cheap, and offer a lot of interesting features.
3- have 280X, so dont really know about 290 issues, maybe someone else could help you out on that.

My advice, assuming you have the 7990 overclocked, keep it until the next gen of cards in 5-6 months.

But depends what you want.
