Hi I am new to pc making so please be patient - I have bought a 4890 xfx card and in the instructions that came with it it says that you need 2 pci power cables direct to your psu...Now on my modular psu - Hiper X Modular ATX 530W PSU Power Supply - it only has one proper 6 pin pci power cable, with some sort of convertor if you wish to do cross fire. My question is - is that ok mixing the cables like that because on the instructions it said that was a no no. Is this just a preventative measure or something to be taken as gospel...should i sell it on and get a new psu?

Thanks

converter? u mean some kind of splitter that divides the pci-e into two or a molex to pci-e adapter?

Either way, it is best to be avoided, some ppl do so with no problem but it is better to just pick up another psu.
