Graphics card problem ?

ok not sure if it is graphics card or not so here goes -

i have he system in my sig, the problem starts where sometimes ill turn my computer on and i can here it loading into windows (start up music for vista) but i have no display on screen its just blank ?

i reboot the machine and its fine again ?

its very random as to when it happens and really not sure what is causing it any ideas welcomed, my general performance is how you would expect

Don't you see anything like POST before the system boots into windows?

no mate nothing at all no display just here the loading of the music and hard drive activity light can be seen.

Might be that your monitor is displaying a resolution or frequency that it cannot support. Did you change either recently?

What happens when you run safe mode?

not changed resoloution its sat at default of 1440*900 on my belinea 19" widescreen.
I dont know if it does it in safe mode or not as its hard to test it as dont know when it will occur next very intermitent, and i would say it will as when it does it i see no bios or anything which suggests to me a hardware problem ?
could it be something to do with the overclock i might try turning it all down for a while and see what results i get ?

Try that yeah, is the OC on the CPU or GPU or both? Make a note of all your settings and then set them to default and see if the problem removes itself. If you have the CPU AND GPU overclocked, try just defaulting one at first, that will eliminate the issue.

Does it always work fine on the second attempt, or if you reboot the PC? If so, then it could be that your PSU can't always handle the sudden power draw of a cold boot.

it does not always work on second cold boot no and only the cpu is ocd not the card and i hope the psu can cope as it just replaced a jeantech only 2 weeks ago

ok update:

i turned the overclock down to 2.5gig and still getting same result where it hates being restarted from desktop and rarely starts up again ie does not post ?

i turned the bios back to default settings apart from the ram voltage and it never posted for the first restart ?

wondering wether this psu new tagan is faulty what program you using to monitor voltages ?

and any ideas welcomed
