i have a BFG 6800 ultra oc and i think it has just died.I was playing a game when i got like 2 white triangles flash up and then go.then the pc froze so i rebooted, when it got to the windows loading screen the windows picture was abit currput white, pink squares ect.soon as it loaded to desktop the monitor was switching itself on and off and i had no mouse icon. Then the desktop screen started to currupt.I think BFG offer lifetime warranty but i dont have the receipt all i have is the box it came in a white plain box with BFG on it ect.

Take out the card and check for dust buildup and remove dust where needed.

Put the card back in, uninstall the drivers and reinstall them just to be sure.

It looks like the card (memory) is dying but just try these things first.

i booted pc up earlyer and it booted up fine and seems to be working ok.I have a radeon 9550 spare,so if it does it again i will try the radeon in it.

BFG have responded to my email i sent asking for my details to process a RMA so hopefully the card will get repaired or replaced.since i switched on my pc today my pc has been fine,i havent tryed a game yet but i will abit lata to see if it crash's again.

my card seems to work now so i dont know if i should carry on with the warranty to bfg.I have played some games and it hasnt done it again so not sure what to do.If the card seems working when i send it to bfg would they send it back and say there is nothing wrong with it or would they just send me a card that they know is 100% working?

also a few weeks ago i was getting this error with a blue screen nv4_disp has got stuck in a continous loop.just before this would appear my monitor would go on and off and my mouse pointer would move then stick then move then blue screen would appear.I updated to latest drivers and then everything was fine untill the other day when i started getting the above problem.

update

well i sent my 6800 to bfg and installed my old radeon 9550 worked fine for a few days and i moved the pc and i noticed the monitor went black,pc was still running but nothing on the screen. So i switched pc off and opened the case and decided to wiggle the card to see if its the agp slot.Soon as i moved it the screen went black and came back on again but when it came back on there was like green aftifacts on the screen. Then i noticed between the agp slot and the pci slot is a capacitor (i think thats what there called ) soon as i touch that screen goes off,and comes back on if i left go but when i move the mouse the screen currupts realy bad. When i rebooted i got black screen with a beep with a womens voice saying failed agp test, switched pc off and back on again did the same.So i took card out and reseated it and this time it came on with bios screen ect. Then when it got to loading xp it just sat on a black screen, rebooted again and its working again. What the hell is going on lol i cant beleive i sent my card to BFG thinking it was faulted and i think its this motherboard that is broken.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be causing this

some of the errors in event viewer

The driver ati2dvag for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

when i had my 6800 installed i was getting the nv4 stuck in a loop error.
