Graphics card problems.

A friend recently upgraded, so she donated me her old card a GTX 260 (well 2 of them but my mobo doesnt support sli). But I only had one 6 pin adapter.. so went out and bought an extra one. My computer can be a bit temperamental at times, but my pc will boot the old graphics card using either 6 pin, so I know they are wired up properly.

Yet when I try and boot up the gtx 260, it will start up, the fan will go, but the monitor will just stay on standby and not get any signal.

I have a really cheap ass psu, EZcool 500w. Could this be the problem?. I'm also having a hard time fitting them in, my case is big enough and I got it in perfectly once, but it seems like a very hard card to fit.

Can't be sure if the PSU's causing the problem, but you need to replace that ASAP, that rig of yours will need some 400W on full load and your PSU can't reliably supply that. Get something from a decent brand rated for at least 650.

Okay thanks, I might just fork out and get a new rig at this rate, I will see if I can test the cards In someone else's pc, but seeing as it's fan kicked in, it's not the card. I am starting to think I may have to bite the bullet and upgrade.
