I want to buy a new GFX card. my card isnt doing what I want it to do, and I dont wanna upgrade CPU for a while because of work reasons, I dont have the time etc.

so I wanna get a new gfx card which I can still use if I upgrade in the future.

my sig is my current rig

I was thinking of getting the GTX460 768 mb version

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/07/12/nvidia-geforce-gtx-460-graphics-card-review/12

I was impressed with this review, good temps, low noise, good price performance

which card do you recommend? 150 pounds I would say I want to spend, maybe a bit more.

it has to be low noise, low watt usage ( I have a 600watt good PSU though)

thanks a lot

If you can stretch to ~£175 it's worth the extra £25 to get a 1GB GTX460 over the 768MB version. Nvidia reference cooler is much better than what Palit/Gainward/KFA2(Galaxy) are using, so i'd recommend waiting until some of those are available. Sparkle use the reference cooler on their 1GB, but apart from that it looks like the best option will be Gigabyte/MSI/ECS.

Right now we have a very poor choice of cards in the UK, give it a week or two and we should have far more options.

Basically right now you should avoid Palit/Gainward and anything that uses a blower fan (Inno3D, Zotac) if you're looking for a quiet card. Either that or get a cheap 1GB card and put up with the noise until 3rd party coolers hit the market.

Well I live outside of the UK, so I have a choice of every single card available.

I dont see the difference between the cpu coolers though

EVGA, gigabyte etc. all of them seem to have the same cooler.

the reviews say the sstock cooler is the best one, but how do I know which is which, and since I cant link the ones I mean, because it shows a link fo the competitor :(
