Basically i want to use a UHD monitor and also do mining/folding. I currently have the Asus P5q Pro Turbo would any AMD R9 290 Series graphics cards be compatible with my intel setup?

Ive never had any AMD hardware; any considerations, advantages or disadvantages? Thanks
 
Hey dude not sure why no one else has replied to you...

So you have an obsolete motherboard and either a core2 duo CPU or perhaps core2 quad?

Do you plan on gaming on the UHD monitor? If so your processor and mobo will need upgrading as they will be a major bottleneck. Any graphics card will work in your system but as I said it will be bottlenecked in many recent games by the CPU.

Mining and folding should be fine and give you max performance (GPU based mining and folding at least).
