I'm looking to upgrade my current 7600GT with something more complimentary to my new Dell 2407WFP-HC. I mainly use my PC for internet browsing and office work buit also watch some DVD's and play the occasional game.

Will I benefit anything at all by upgrading from a 7600GT and, if so, can anybody please recommend what I should consider changing to.

Thankyou

What is "the occasional game"? Which ones in particular? A used x1900xt/x1950xt/pro 512mb might be what you are looking for.

Thankyou for the post Gurusan.

The last game I played was the original Call Of Duty so that gives you an idea how often I play them. I'd like to have a card capable of smoothly running the newer games should I ever have an inclination to try one but, as I'm not really into "shoot em ups", I may be looking a while for the right game. I recently downloaded the Quake ET demo to see how it looked on my machine and I was really impressed but I wouldn't want to play it.

Well, the new 8800GT cards are coming out so they will knock down 8800GTS prices a tad. I would recommend looking for a used 8800GTS as that will do quite nicely.

Or if you want to buy something new the 2900 Pro is the best for the money (some may argue this but its the general consensus)

The 2900 Pro is basically a downclocked 2900XT... It will suit you very well at stock, and should you need more power they can pretty much be guaranteed to overclock past 2900XT speeds.

As you can see, great price...this one is on a special as well.

oh, and with the 24'' resolution I wouldn't recommend anything under 512mb video memory.

if your budget is 50-60ish then I recommend looking for a used x1950xt, x1900xt, x1950pro all with 512mb memory...in that order.

Also wirefan you better remove all that as you arent allowed to sell things outside of the members market; and that won't be available to you until you have 250+ posts
