Graphics card recommendations?

Following on from this thread I need a new graphics card. I am quite happy with the speed of the current 8800GTX so what I am after is something of comparable speed, I also need something that works with Linux. Also are there any single slot cards out now that are as fast as the 8800GTX? Any recommendations either way?

Hmm ok 30 views no replies. Anyway I am thinking that I can get away with under-clocking my current card to stop the freezing for a couple more months before I buy so I can possibly get something better in time for i37. Also thinking about a new monitor and seeing the GeForce 3D Vision Bundle has got me thinking. Has anyone used this yet? What is it like?

Hummm stick with Nvidia for linux drivers! (i made the mistake of trying out the 4970 on linux last year and struggled no end with it)

Any reason you want single slot? For a good value replacement id recommend this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-114-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=927 as its nearly half the price i payed for the gtx280 at the start of the year and is only 10-15% slower (i think)
