Graphics Card Red lines and fuzzy videos

Hello :)

I was wondering if you could help. I've just built my first computer and installed windows. I tried to install the drivers for the asus m4a89gtd pro/usb motherboard but then my gigabyte gtx460 super overclock gets red dotted lines across where I'm typing and fuzzy lines across videos. Could it be that the integrated onboard graphics and integrated hd audio drivers are competing with the graphics card I installed?

I know I'm using an nvidia card on an amd board so that could be why. But I haven't been able to locate and disable the driver causing the problem. What I've been forced to do now is do a system restore back before I installed the motherboard drivers. There are no longer any red lines anywhere, that's why I think it's a driver problem as opposed to a graphics card failure, but I was wondering if it was bad not to have used the drivers install disk at all for the motherboard?
If anyone could give me some advice it would be much appreciated.:D
Thank you

Emma

is it possible to disable onboard gfx in the bios emma ?

install the drivers for the MB 1 by 1, that way you can see how each one reacts and see which one it is causing the issue

Ah thank you good idea. Yes I tried disabled the onboard graphics to no avail. I'd already put the drivers on by that time though. I'll try out your suggestion tomorrow though and probably post tomorrow if I can get it to work.

Thank you

Emma

Hi there!

Problem resolved :). It turns out that everytime I installed the drivers I also used asus' core unlocker feature. Turns out the cores are unstable :P. That was a tad stupid of me but there we go! Everything's fine now and I'm quite happy just having a dual core so not a massive problem.

Thanks again for your reply
