I have 2 8800gtx cards and have them connected via the svideo on the card into the component on my 26" tv. Would it be better to use the dvi to dvi and if so what resolution would this then need setting to? In normal internet usage i have it on 1280x 1024 then games are 1920x1080. Thanks for any help.

svideo is not HD!

use the 'normal' VGA or better still HDMI. check the resolution of your HDTV, 1920x180 is 1080p HD, text might be too small at this resolution (if you sit TV distances away) but games will look very sharp.

Yes DVI is better, the cable doesnt effect your resolution but will be able to carry more data and thus provide HD if you have a source too, and your TV is HD. DVI=HDMI

it is 720p not 1080p but looks good for gaming on 1080i. When i try connecting my dvi and select input on tv it doesnt recognise it, just shows a black screen? How can i resolve this cos when i try messing with resolutions i have to get my old monitor out for the resolution as my hdtv keeps going blank. On the nvidia control panel it just gives me the component lead option no other options?

Chances are that your native res is actually 1366x768, whereas the resolution you can pick is 1360x768.

You may need to use customise your own resolution. On my old Mirai 32" HDTV, the picture was not correctly centered by default and part of the screen was not visible.

surely the picture i have now 1920x 1080 is better than getting 1360x768 though isnt it?
depends how well your tv scales and processes the picture. but u can fit more on your desktop with 1920x1080, what refresh rate is it on?

does it look blurry?

its on 60hz and i have it set on normal 1360x768 for using internet etc and then in the game setup its on 1920x1080 so isnt blurry at all in game its brilliant.

Well just use whichever one works best for you. But generally 1360x768 should work best on TVs with 1366x768 resolution.

You'll have a much better all round experience running games at the native res (1366 x 768) IMO. Why bother putting your GPU under the strain on outputting 1920 x 1080 res when it's going to be downscaled anyway.
