Hi there i have turned my computer on this morning only to find that windows has zoomed in on everything and all of the icons on my desktop are enlarged. Is there a problem with my graphics card or is it a simple fix? The graphics card is a msi r9 280x

Sounds like you've accidentally enabled windows UI scaling.
Go in to Display settings and have a look round to set it back to 100%.
Either than or you've changed the desktop resolution to something much lower than the native resolution of your monitor
