Hey everyone, I'm after a graphics card for a PC which is more than capable of running the latest games, not necessarily at top resolutions, but can run games smooth with no problems whilst looking as good as possible.

I don't want to spend too much, £170 would probably be about max. I was looking at either the ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB or the GeForce 8800 GT 512MB.

Any ideas?

For that kind of money you should got with the 8800GT, has enough power for any current game and matches or beats the ATI competition.

Cool, thanks for such a quick response. Just had a look but there is loads of different variations of the 512MB version, which is better? Or are they all roughly the same?

get the cheapest one and overclock it for free, or go for say the his ones that have better cooling and allow you to overclock safer /higher
