graphics card stops responding

so when i first built my pc my graphics card kept crashing, i reinstalled the drivers and for a week it worked fine until now. i was running ms paint and it crashed, restarted and crashed about 3-4 times.

im using an R7 260X graphcis card.

What about the rest of the specs?

Is the boards BIOS upto date?

no its not overclocked and i do have the latest drivers.

amd x4 740 cpu
4gb ram (1 stick)
Gigabyte F2A75M-HD2 AMD A75 Chipset motherboard
500w psu
R7 260X

im not sure if the bios is up to date but i read that theres a chance i can ruin thr mobo if i update it so thats why i havent updated it

If you put the BIOS file onto a USB stick and use QFlash in the BIOS then there is almost a 99.999999% chance it be fine

The board has dualBIOS also for backup.

If that doesn't work its time to either use a hammer

or try to fine the fault and RMA something.

might be a stupid question but will upgrading format my hard drive or anything like that?

i just checked the download section to update the bios and theres only 1 version and thats the first release so im guessing my bios is up to date. right?

I'm seeing 5 with F5b being the latest.

It wont wipe your drive.

oh i was looking at the rev 3.0 version. anyway the F5b is a beta bios, should i still get it?

also how would this help my graphics card from crashing? thanks

@op why are you running one ram stick? Your losing performance with single channel vs dual channel (two ram sticks)

i was short of money at the time i bought the system, ill be buying another stick in a few days.

ok so sorry for taking long but i finally got round to updating my bios and it still doesnt help, i still crash but if i must be honest its not as often.
