My GTX460 SoC from gigabyte has served me well for a very long time but now I want to upgrade to a better card thanks to some good luck I had latley, my budget is about 600. My only proviso is that it has to be as quiet as my current card :P

Monitor resolution is 1920 by 1080

System:

I2500k running at 4.8GHz
8GB Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600mhz
MSI P67-GD65 Motherboard (Recently Updated from a P67-G45)
Corsair TX650W Psu (temp measure while i buy something better)

As above - £600 is a lot of money for a gfx card and it may be that you would benefit from a lesser card (although probably still a stonking performer) and put the money towards some other upgrades, now or in the future if you need them.

EDIT: I should have refreshed after i had finished my phone call.

Are you interested in SLi/Crossfire - preferences towards Nvidia or ATi?

570 would be my choice, though I should point out that AMD are releasing their 7000 series in the not too distant future, might be worth hanging on a couple of months. Failing that, as mentioned, I would opt for the 570 with a non reference cooler like :

Or there is the Phantom which is supposedly even quieter which might just be the one for you :

As mentioned the Phantoms are very quiet and they come in both flavours - the 570 and 580.

Here's a a direct performance comparison between the 2 cards - link.

Having said that i've just upgraded from the GIgabyte 460 to the GIgabyte 560Ti - and sound levels are just as good (quiet). I'm guessing their whole range leans towards relative silence.

As your not considering SLi then you should have quite a bit of change from your £600.

If you were going ATi then the 6970/90 would have been a consideration.

Yes, i've fitted a few BeQuiets and always been imprerssed. If my latest Corsair hadn't been under warranty i think i would have opted for the BeQuiet myself. The PSU fan is the noisiest part of my system - and the Corsair fan is relatively quiet.

Well obviously I'll want a wattage above what I currently have, I always make the rule that when it comes to PSU's ill always buy at least a PSU with 100W more than what I actually need

Try a post in the 'Pre-sales Forum' - link - you usually get a very quick answer and 5UB who monitors that forum is extremely helpful if you have any further questions.

+1
5UB answered all my questions before I had even received a "webnote received" email from OcUK :D:p

I can also recommend Silverstone PSU's as mine's silent :)
