I can also recommend Silverstone PSU's as mine's silent

These keep cropping up as recommendations and i've not yet fitted one into a system for comparison.

If you're able to, how would you compare the noise levels of your Silverstone (model?) to that of a Corsair TX750 which has an audible whisper?

After having used a Bequiet P8, all I can say is, the noise from the TX650 is annoying (maybe im just spoiled)

I guess you don't care about what I have to say but getting 1kw is just plain lunacy, you say you're not going to be going sli(even then a 850w would handle 580 sli let alone 570). 650/750w will save you money.

and before anyone replies back with the usual 'psu don't use their full power, only what's needed' etc, i'm not talking about money from electricity bill but the money from the difference in cost of the buying the psu in the first place.

I do believe you Folwer, I know your talking sense, the only reason I put the 1000W in that list was because its the only Bequiet P version PSU in stock

You’re absolutely right but as he’s after a silent system then buying a 1000W PSU (although overkill) will mean that it’s only running at ~55% so fan noise due to cooling will be even less as it will be essentially just be ticking over. So, in theory, it should have advantages over buying a PSU which suits his power requirements as the fan would be spinning at optimum far more often.

But an 850W would probably be just as effective for this - but it's his money and people should buy what makes them happy (as long as they can afford it of course).

Can't hear it with my ear right next to it

Just for you - I stopped every single fan in my system to listen for it

There is a very very quiet hum, but i'm certain that comes from my pump.

I have NEVER noticed my PSU making a noise
Even under full load
