Hi all

I have the ATi X1950Pro at the moment, and im looking to upgrade to a newer card. I'm ideally looking to spend about £90? as this is what the current card cost when I first bought it.

I have found this card, would this be good enough to play COD4 on high settings like my X1950Pro?

Thanks.

That will play it fine too, but a used 8800GT or 3870 are both significantly better, and cheaper too.

if you want to buy new, I would probably get the 4670 IceQ4 over the 9600GT. They are both roughly the same in CoD4 but the 4670 has a good cooler and overclocks well.

Excellent, I think I will go down and fetch the 4670 later today...

Cheers for the quick responses.

Or if you can stretch to a 4830 it really is worth it. Twice the stream processors (640) and not limited by the 128bit memory interface.

That said, either the 4670 or the 4830 will be nice jumps from a x1950pro...they are both more than significantly faster.

Yeah, spend the extra tenner over your budget now and get a card that is twice as powerful.

Should you upgrade your screen the HD4830/50 will also be better suited to handle the resolution.
